Section 3How the competitions run
Entries go through team captains. The competitions secretary, Jason Nalder, posts each competition in the captains' WhatsApp group with its entry deadline, and collects the names.
After entries close, the draw is made and posted in the captains' group and on the website, with the deadline for the first round. A preliminary round may be needed to even up the draw. Each later round has its own deadline.
Only players registered with the league can enter.
Matches are played by the date set for each round, unless both sides agree another date and tell the League officers. A match not played before the next round is forfeited by the side that asked to move it.
The format a competition starts with is used throughout, including the final.
Finals are played at a neutral venue on a date set by the committee. In team finals the captains toss for first choice of players.
Cup matches don't change handicaps.
If in doubt, ask the secretary.
